The Skewer House is a family owned restaurant situated in the historic town of Rochford in Essex. We specialise in the traditional Portuguese dish Espetada. The Espetada is a typical dish made from beef skewered onto a bay leaf stick cooked over hot coals or wood chips.
We at the Skewer House have expanded on the traditional Espetada and also offer a variety of skewers including chicken, pork, prawns, vegetables and halloumi cheese. We regularly visit Billingsgate and Smithfield Markets in London to ensure all our meat and fish is as fresh as can be.
Originally from Madeira, as a family we have been in the restaurant business for many years; our original venture is O'Picado in Westcliff-on-Sea.
We pride ourselves on being a family friendly, traditionally Madeiran restaurant where everyone is welcome. Come and visit us soon!
